The US has increased its presence in Yemen, as a new batch of US military reinforcements arrived in the impoverished, war-torn country this week.
A senior official of the Ansarallah resistance group accused the US and Britain of gearing up for a new round of escalation in Yemen.
Ali al-Qahoum, a member of the Ansalallah Political Bureau, said, in a remote interview with Al-Mayadeen TV, that “there is a direct American military presence in Yemen, and an influx of its troops, specifically in Hadhramaut.”

He also revealed that a large US and UK military delegation visited the embattled province and the port of Al-Dabba this week in a bid to loot Yemen’s wealth.
Still, this is not the first time foreign forces have flown into the province. Recent reports suggest that a group of Israeli advisors, accompanied by Emirati servicemen, entered through the occupied Al-Rayan military base.
Furthermore, Yemen’s official sources claimed that French military forces, comprising foreign nationals, arrived in Shabwah province to secure control of the Balhaf gas facility.

Qahoum went on to say that the US is not serious about stopping the aggression (referring to the violations of the Saudi-led coalition), lifting the siege, or removing Yemen from Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter and external guardianship.
Accusing the US of practicing a clear deceptive policy, he said, “there are double standards, they talk and move for peace” but their eye is on “our natural resources, nothing more.”
Additionally, the senior official emphasized that Ansarallah “is ready to defend every inch of Yemen,” as he put it.
The Saudi-led coalition has been attempting for years to impose and consolidate their hegemony over the Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Yemeni waters under false pretexts, accusing Sanaa of threatening international navigation – to justify their more aggressive movements at sea.
“What poses a threat to international navigation is the American, British, and French military presence in Bab al-Mandab and off the Yemeni coast,” noting that “this unjustified presence represents a danger not only to Yemen but to the entire region,” Qahoum added.
Yemeni officials have previously cautioned that US and French troops deployed in provinces controlled by the Saudi-led coalition have arrived to coordinate the looting of Yemen’s natural resources.
