On 22 November, armed clashes between Kurdish separatist elements and the Iranian security forces in Javanrud, in the Kermanshah province of Iran, escalated significantly as the IRGC and its auxiliary forces attempted to contain the chaos.

During a meeting with the Basij volunteer forces on 26 November, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said he rejects talks with the United States to solve the problems between the two countries.
According to Khamenei, the problems can only be solved through “tribute” and not by Iran bending to the will of the US.
“Can a zealous Iranian do what the US wants?” he asked.
Iran’s Supreme Leader referred to a speech made by US General Wesley Clark at the height of the so-called “War on Terror” in 2003, in which the general revealed that the US had plans to attack seven Muslim countries (Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran), but had failed to accomplish their goals in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon, where the US was defeated.
The Islamic Revolution’s Supreme Leader also praised the Basij Resistance Force for their contributions not only on the battlefield but also in science and religion.
The Basij Resistance Force is a paramilitary organization operating under the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) that works in internal security, law enforcement, and religious and political events.
Meanwhile, the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) ground forces, General Muhammad Pakpour, announced on 25 November that troops would be sent to the country’s Kurdish border regions to prevent “the infiltration of terrorists” from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region (IKR).
“Some armored units and special forces of the [IRGC] ground forces are currently heading to the border provinces in the west and northwest of the country,” Pakpour said.
“The measure taken by the ground force of the Revolutionary Guards is based on strengthening the units stationed on the borders and preventing the infiltration of terrorists affiliated with separatist groups stationed in the northern region of Iraq,” he added.
