Late on 4 August, Israeli fighter jets launched air strikes on Lebanese territory, targeting border areas and alleged “terror infrastructure.”
The air strikes came on the anniversary of the catastrophic Port of Beirut blast which left hundreds dead, and destroyed a significant area of the Lebanese capital.
The spokesman for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, said that the night-time attack came in response to two rockets that were fired earlier in the day from Lebanon into Israel.
Adraee also blamed the Lebanese state for what was happening inside its territory.
